2025 Kangaroo Island Ferry Service - Shore-based Infrastructure Update

The construction of our two new state-of-the-art ferries, Wanggami and Ruwi, is progressing well, and are set to commence service in 2025, in line with the completion of Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island Ports Upgrades.

In this update, Tracy Croft, General Manager, SeaLink South Australia, and Peter Vickery, General Manager – Projects, SeaLink Marine & Tourism, discuss the required shore-based infrastructure works at Cape Jervis and Penneshaw to prepare for the new ferries.

We urge everyone to exercise caution when moving around the ports and carparks. Please follow the directions of on-site workers and observe all signage to ensure your safety.

We continue to work closely with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, who are delivering upgrades to the Government-owned port side infrastructure as part of their Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island Ports Upgrade. For further information on these upgrades, visit http://www.dit.sa.gov.au/KIPorts or contact the Department by emailing  [email protected] or calling 1300 794 880.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these necessary works are undertaken in the lead up to the commencement of the new Kangaroo Island Ferry Service.
