  • Bruny Island is located off the southeastern coast of Tasmania, Australia. It's a 30-minute drive from Hobart to the ferry terminal at Kettering, or a 3-hour drive from Launceston.

  • Winter on Bruny Island is cool, quiet and atmospheric. It’s not snowy — it’s more moody coastal winter.

    Pack a windproof/waterproof jacket and bring layers, as the weather can change fast.

  • It’s colder than mainland Australia but milder than many Northern Hemisphere winters. The temperature feels colder when it's windy (and it often is).
