O'Connor Landing is evolving to enhance its visitor experience.
Renovations have commenced on the B Shed Redevelopment Project, which will breathe new life into our much-loved heritage cargo shed. Creating a modern ferry terminal, an enhanced visitor experience, and a vibrant performing arts space for the community to enjoy. The $30m project is being undertaken by Fremantle Ports and is expected to be completed in August 2028.
This project is an important step in transforming Victoria Quay into a lively, welcoming waterfront precinct while preserving the unique character of its historic buildings.
What to expect during the upgrade
To keep everyone safe throughout construction, temporary changes to road layouts and berth access will be implemented around B Shed Terminal.
Fremantle Ports is working closely with us to ensure vessel and guest access is maintained during the project. Clearly marked, safe pedestrian routes will guide passengers smoothly to and from ferry berths throughout construction, with staff available to assist where needed.
The existing O’Connor Landing ‘kiss and ride’ car park is closed during the project. However, an adjacent drop-off facility will be created within the E Shed carpark, and there are expected to be impacts on both luggage drop-off and parking availability in the surrounding area. Customers are encouraged to arrive 45-60 minutes prior to their ferry departure to allow time for parking and organising luggage. We recommend taking public transportation where possible. We appreciate your patience during this process.
Victoria Quay is full of cafés, waterfront views, historic trails, and seasonal pop-ups, making it easy to enjoy a little extra time on the quay.
