Pinky Beach Rottnest Island

In these conditions “SeaLink Rottnest Island” and “we” means Vyscot Pty Limited (ABN 25 009 241 972), its servants and agents. “You” and “the passenger" means the passenger booked to travel on SeaLink Rottnest Island’s services. By booking a tour or otherwise engaging with SeaLink Rottnest Island, you are agreeing to the following conditions with SeaLink Rottnest Island.

Terms & Conditions

  • All fares and prices, itinerary details, package inclusions, ferry schedules, routes and accommodation information provided to you is correct at the time of publishing; however, these can be subject to alteration, sometimes without notice. Once you have made a booking, the fares will not change unless you choose to alter the booking. Itinerary details, ferry schedules (including departure and arrival times), and routes are subject to alteration without prior notice at any time, including after booking. We reserve the right to cancel any services, vary any services, and substitute any means of transport. You may be entitled to a full or partial refund of any fares paid in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. In all other circumstances, any refund is at our discretion. All services and reservations provided are subject to the conditions of the principal providers and no responsibility is accepted by SeaLink Rottnest Island for the acts or omissions of any third party. Subject to any entitlement you may have to any full or partial refund of fares paid in accordance with Australian Consumer Law, refunds may not be available for unused services.

  • All fares are quoted in Australian Dollars. Fares are subject to change at any time until paid in full. Fares are subject to change at any time; they are dependent on variable and dynamic pricing (discounting as well as surcharge); special booking conditions; blackout dates; and seasonal variations. Use of a promotion code must be applied at the time of booking and cannot be utilized retroactively. Only one promotion code can be applied to a booking.

    Concession Fare

    Concession rates apply to holders of a current Australian Government Seniors card(65+ years) or Student Card (secondary or tertiary). Equivalent overseas cards are also eligible for the concession rate. SeaLink Rottnest Island supports the Companion Card program. Clients travel for a concession rate and one carer per client can travel free of charge when accompanying their client. Companion cards must be presented at the SeaLink Rottnest Island ticketing counter at check in. SeaLink Rottnest Island must be notified that a carer is travelling at the time of booking for the carer’s ticket to be applied.

    Youth Fare

    Youth fares apply to those aged 13 to 16 years.

    Child Fare

    Child prices apply to children aged 4-12 years, inclusive. In the interest of safety, children and infants aged twelve years and under are not permitted to travel without being accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

    Infant Fare

    An infant is defined as under 4 years of age. Infants travel free of charge on SeaLink Rottnest Island services provided they do not occupy a seat.

    Family Fare

    A Family Fare is defined as two adults and two child fares. All passengers must be travelling on the same services to be eligible for the Family Fare.

  • A 1.25% surcharge will apply to payments made by MasterCard, Visa, American Express, PayPal and/or Google Pay. We accept online bank transfers for payments of AUD$250.00 and above. Please quote your booking number as your payment reference. Allow a minimum of four business days for your payment to be received and processed. Refunds to an international bank account will incur an AUD$20.00 charge.

  • Bookings can be amended online at Manage Your Booking secure-payment or by calling SeaLink Rottnest Island on 1300 786 552 or email to [email protected]. Amendment &/or cancellation fees may apply. Amendments to bookings after payment has been made are also subject to variable and dynamic pricing, block out dates, as well as subject to the terms and conditions of special fares.

  • Full payment must be made at the time of booking for all services and packages. Subject to any entitlement you may have to any full or partial refund of fares paid in accordance with Australian Consumer Law, all tickets and bookings are non-refundable. In the event of ferry cancellation due to safety, weather, operational, or other reasons, passengers can choose from a full refund or a credit. In certain circumstances it is sometimes necessary for us to substitute a ferry with a coach transfer between Perth and Fremantle, and vice versa. This may be due to weather, high tide conditions in the Swan River, or for other operational reasons. Credits are valid for 12 months and are transferable to family and friends. They can be redeemed on SeaLink Rottnest Island services, as well as on Captain Cook Cruises WA, and Swan Valley Tours. Credit notes cannot be extended beyond 12 months. A credit note can be redeemed (in full or in part) by contacting SeaLink Rottnest Island on 1300 786 552 or at [email protected]. Credit notes cannot be redeemed online. When redeeming in part, any remaining funds will be re- credited; however, the expiry date of the original credit note will be transferred to the new credit note.

    Cancellation Fees - Third Party Tour & Accommodation Operators

    SeaLink Rottnest Island is partnered with several third-party tour and accommodation operators on Rottnest Island. Generally, there is no refund on third-party tours and accommodation bookings that are cancelled once payment has been made. Please contact SeaLink Rottnest Island for more information.

    Cancellation Policy – Discovery Rottnest Island Accommodation

    The following cancellation fees apply for accommodation bookings at Discovery Rottnest Island:

    a. 14 days or more prior to check-in: Nil fees apply.
    b. 14 days – 73 hours (4 days) prior to check-in: Cancellation fees equal to one (1) night’s accommodation or 25% of the total accommodation cost (whichever is greater)
    c. 72 hours or less prior to check-in: Cancellation fees equal to 100% of the total accommodation cost.
    d. Early departure or no-shows: Cancellation fees equal to 100% of the total accommodation cost.

  • Holiday plans can be disrupted, and cancellation fees can be costly. Travel insurance is highly recommended. Please note that Travel Insurance may not cover disruptions caused by mechanical breakdowns or adverse weather conditions so please check your insurance policy carefully.

  • Contact for SeaLink Rottnest Island Group Bookings: 1300 786 552, [email protected]. Groups of 10 or more adults travelling together on the same ferry time on the same date may be eligible for discounted group fares, subject to availability and block-out dates. All group passengers must travel on the same day and ferry time to be eligible for discounted group fares. A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is required within 7-days of booking confirmation (subject to any entitlement you may have to any full or partial refund paid in accordance with Australian Consumer Law). Final payment and passenger numbers are due no later than 7 days prior to departure. If the passenger numbers drop below the minimum number required to qualify for a group discount, then SeaLink Rottnest Island reserves the right to increase the price to the rate applicable to the number of people travelling. Final payment must be a ‘single’ payment to have access to the discounted group rate. No individual payments will be accepted. Group bookings cancelled within 7 days of departure are non-refundable.

    School Group bookings: a payment of a nonrefundable $200.00 deposit is required within 7-days of booking confirmation (subject to any entitlement you may have to any full or partial refund paid in accordance with Australian Consumer Law). Final payment and student/teacher numbers are due no later than 7 days prior to departure. Final payment must be a ‘single’ payment to have access to the discounted school group rate. No individual payments will be accepted. School group bookings cancelled within 7 days of departure are non-refundable.
  • SeaLink Rottnest Island vessels are wheelchair and disabled access friendly. Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, gophers and mobility trikes must be prebooked with SeaLink Rottnest Island at least 48 hours prior to travel date and are subject to vessel availability and vessel access. The SeaLink Rottnest Island gangway at O’Connor Landing measures 800mm at the base and 700mm between the handrails.
    C-Berth West in Fremantle is not accessible for any mobility items. Mobility items not prebooked will not be accepted for travel.
    To assist with passenger comfort and safety, any passengers travelling in a wheelchair, other mobility item, or bringing a pram whether stowed, or taken onboard, will be given priority access to reserved seating on board. Please contact SeaLink Rottnest Island with any mobility enquiries and for prebooking.

  • The check-in time for all departures is a minimum of 30 minutes prior to departure. Boarding closes 10 minutes prior to departure. Due to loading requirements, SeaLink Rottnest Island, in its reasonable discretion, reserves the right to refuse boarding for both passengers, luggage and other items within check-in and boarding times.

  • If you are staying on the island, then you can have your luggage (bags and eskies) delivered to your island accommodation on your behalf at a nominal fee per item.

    If you are getting luggage delivered, then please read the following information:
    • Luggage for delivery must be prebooked prior to departure.
    • Please do not pack valuable items such as car keys, mobile phones, laptops, or medication in your luggage for delivery. Take these items with you in your hand luggage.
    • Luggage labels are to be collected from the SeaLink Rottnest Island ticket office counter, at least 30 minutes prior to boarding. Please have your accommodation location and unit number ready to advise our staff.
    • Luggage delivery may take between two and three hours after the arrival of your ferry.
    • Luggage must be left outside your accommodation for collection at 8:00 am in the morning on the day you are returning. The luggage labels must be clear and visible.
    • For ferries departing Rottnest Island before 10:00 am, an early luggage pickup must be arranged at the Rottnest Island Visitor Centre.
    • Once picked up, we are unable to change luggage tags to reflect an earlier or later ferry time.
    • Luggage delivery is unavailable on services departing B Shed Fremantle at 6:00 pm and later. Luggage collection is also unavailable on services departing Rottnest Island at 7:00 pm and later.

    Items such as prams, pedal and e-bikes, e-scooters, beach trolleys, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, and golf clubs etc. must be prebooked, subject to capacity, and charges may apply. Note: it is the responsibility of the passenger to remove the lithium battery from an e-bike prior to handing the bike to the Crew for loading. E-scooters and other items that contain lithium batteries must be handed to the Crew and stored outside the main cabin due to safety requirements. Be aware that items stored outside the main cabin may be exposed to sea spray.

    Bringing your own pedal and e-bikes

    Due to the limitations of loading BYO bicycles, the following restrictions apply to carriage of all BYO pedal and e-bikes. We accept standard size bikes only and bikes that exceed the below restrictions cannot be carried on our SeaLink WA vessels.

    Bringing your own e-scooters

    All e-scooters must comply with the Road Traffic Code 2000. The following restrictions apply:

    Kayaks must be maximum 2.7 meters and weigh no more than twenty-two kilograms.

  • Travelling with prams is permitted on SeaLink Rottnest Island services at no charge, although a pram does need to be prebooked. If a pram is too wide to fit down the gangway it must be folded prior boarding and stored according to direction from the Crew. Children should then be seated with a parent or guardian.

  • Carry on is limited to one standard size carry-on item per person with a standard size being 60cm height x 40cm width x 30cm depth. Passengers are welcome to bring carry-on items onboard, provided they fit in the seat with you and do not take up any additional seats. There are limited luggage storage facilities onboard. No luggage is to be placed in the aisles, wheelchair spaces or any other areas that may hinder the smooth operation of the vessel or an evacuation in the unlikely case of an emergency. Medication, fragile items, and items of value should be carried in hand luggage only.

  • • SeaLink Rottnest Island, the Rottnest Island Authority & its servants, agents & contractors, accept no responsibility for any loss or damage howsoever caused to any personal items whatsoever in nature, by reason of their delivery, collecting or carrying any such item. All personal items whatsoever in nature that are collected, delivered, or carried with or by the Rottnest Island Authority & its servants, agents or contractors are done so at your own risk.

    •Fishing rods, bikes, and golf bags cannot be delivered by the Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) and must be collected by the owner from the jetty upon arrival at Rottnest.

    •Items that are of an excessive size or weight may be refused carriage at the discretion of the SeaLink Rottnest Island Crew.

    •In the interests of passenger and vessel safety, SeaLink Rottnest Island reserves the right to conduct a search of any luggage.

    •Luggage exceeding the specified size and/or weight may not be transported or delivered.

    •The RIA may charge an additional fee for any oversize or overweight item to be delivered to your accommodation, and delivery may be delayed. The RIA will contact you if there is to be an additional charge for luggage delivery.

    •No ‘piggybacking’ of luggage is permitted, such as attaching a sleeping bag to a suitcase.

    SeaLink Rottnest Island, the Rottnest Island Authority, & its servants, agents & contractors, accept no responsibility for any loss or damage howsoever caused to any personal items whatsoever in nature by reason of their delivery, collecting or carrying any such item. All personal items whatsoever in nature that are collected, delivered, or carried with or by the Rottnest Island Authority & its servants, agents or contractors are done so at your own risk.

    Any items of value should always be carried on your person and not in your luggage. If any luggage items fail to turn up after investigation by the RIA and/or the ferry companies, recourse is through your insurance company, if you have chosen to take out insurance providing coverage for that loss. If luggage is left behind upon arrival at the mainland, it will be dealt with in accordance with the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1970 (WA).

  • Spear guns or gidgees, firearms, ammunition, weapons, explosive devices (including marine flares), sandboards, and fauna traps are prohibited on Rottnest Island without written approval from the Rottnest Island Authority. SeaLink Rottnest Island will only carry prohibited items if the person carrying them can present written approval from the Rottnest Island Authority and prior arrangements have been made with our operations department to safely transport the items. SeaLink Rottnest Island may still refuse to carry these items in the interests of vessel or passenger safety, and we will not be liable to you for any loss or damage you suffer or incur because of our refusal to carry an item.

    The following items are totally prohibited on our vessels: explosive substances, fireworks, shellite, turpentine, kerosene, methylated spirits, lamp oil, paint thinners, and any other item a member of the crew reasonably considers poses an unacceptable risk to vessel or passenger safety.

    The following items are only permitted in checked baggage: Alcohol and tools, devices, substances, or apparatus that are capable of being used to create graffiti or mark property. This may include paints, solvents, and screwdrivers. Empty jerry cans can be transported if they meet the conditions below. In any case, SeaLink Rottnest Island may refuse to carry items in the interests of vessel or passenger safety.

    Any machinery or other item that contains a lithium battery must be transported outside of the main cabin for safety reasons.

  • Jerry cans and boat fuel containers must not be greater than 25 litres and are to be welded at the seams. Sealing cap must have locking side arms or screw cap with an effective rubber seal. Jerry cans and boat fuel containers must be empty and dry of residual liquid. Canisters other than Metal / Jerry Cans / Plastic Fuel Containers or boat fuel containers are not allowed. In the event a petrol or diesel can have residual fuel inside and therefore may have dangerous gaseous / air mixture, passengers should fill the canister with water before being allowed onboard.

  • Gift vouchers purchased from SeaLink Rottnest Island are in accordance with the Brilliant Travels Terms and Conditions for Gift Cards, available at https://www.brillianttravels.c... (as amended from time to time).

  • SeaLink Rottnest Island vessels are licensed venues. In conforming to the Liquor Control Act 1988 (WA), passengers who present for boarding while intoxicated (at SeaLink Rottnest Island’s sole determination) cannot be permitted entry to the vessel, and you will not be eligible for a refund of the fare. The consumption of alcohol that was not purchased on board is also strictly prohibited.
    Passengers are legally obligated under the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law Act 2012 (Cth) to comply with any reasonable and lawful direction of a crew member. Failure to do so may constitute an offence.
    All SeaLink Rottnest Island vessels and facilities are non-smoking and non-vaping.

  • These conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws and jurisdiction of the State of Western Australia. If any of these Terms and Conditions are invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it will be read down to the extent necessary to ensure that it is not invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, but if that is not possible, it will be severed from the Terms and Conditions and

    the other conditions will remain valid. Specifying anything in these Terms & Conditions after the words ‘include’ or ‘for example’ or similar expressions does not limit what else is included.

  • Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the services, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value; and to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

    If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

    In circumstances where the Australian Consumer Law does not apply to the provision of services to you, then to the greatest extent allowable at law, any liability of Kelsian Group Limited or its related entities for any loss or damage however caused (including by our negligence) which is suffered, or incurred by you:

    in connection with the services are limited to, at our election: the fare paid by you for those services; or

    resupply of those services; and in connection with loss or damage to your luggage or belongings taken aboard the services are limited to $100.

    The limitation set out in clause 48 is an aggregate limit for all claims, whenever made.

    In circumstances where the Australian Consumer Law does not apply to the provision of services to you, then to the greatest extent allowable at law, Kelsian Group Limited and its related entities are not liable for any consequential loss however caused (including by negligence) which is suffered or incurred by you in connection with the services.

    To the greatest extent allowable at law, any liability of Kelsian Group Limited or its related entities for any loss or damage caused (including by our negligence) which is suffered, or incurred by you in connection with:

    e.your failure to comply with these terms and conditions;

    f.events that are outside of the reasonable control of Kelsian Group Limited or any of its related entities, including where such events lead to cancellation of services or deviations or delays in the services; or

    g.the acts or omissions of any third party or independent contractor.

    2.Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits SeaLink Rottnest Island’s liability in respect of:

    a.death or personal injury caused by SeaLink Rottnest Island’s negligence or wrongful act; and

    b.fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation,

    except to the extent such liability is contributed to by you.

    You indemnify Kelsian Group Limited and its related entities against all penalties, fines, charges, losses, and expenses imposed upon or incurred by Kelsian Group Limited, its related entities or personnel because of your acts or omissions or the acts or omissions of a minor or any other person in your care or control.

  • Vyscot Pty Limited trading as SeaLink Rottnest Island collects, uses, and discloses the Personal Information you have provided to us to enable us and relevant third parties to provide you with the ferry, associated services and any packages you have requested us to provide to you (“Ferry and Package Inclusions”). We disclose your name, phone number, email address, and booking number to third parties who assist us in providing the Ferry and Package Inclusions. If you do not provide us with the information requested, we may not be able to provide you with, or make available to you, all or some of the Ferry and Package Inclusions.

  • • The hirer must be 18 years of age or older. Minors (under 18) collecting bikes/snorkels must be accompanied by an adult.

    • The hirer is responsible for checking all hire items prior to using the hire items.
    • By accepting these hire terms and conditions the hirer acknowledges that the hire items were in good condition upon delivery.
    • The hirer must not allow any other person to operate the equipment or have control of the same.
    • The hirer must not breach the provisions of the Road Traffic Act 1974 (WA) and the Road Traffic Code 2000 (WA) (as amended from time to time) when riding a hire bike. Some of the provisions include:
    a) Helmets must be worn and fastened at all times when riding.
    b) Bikes must not be ridden recklessly or without due care and attention.
    c) Bikes must not be ridden by persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    • The hirer must ensure that bikes are only ridden on sealed roads and cycling paths.
    • The hirer must be a competent cyclist and must ensure that only other competent cyclists ride the hire bike.
    • The hirer must wear suitable clothing and footwear for riding a bicycle.
    • The hirer acknowledges that no credit or refund will be provided in case of early return of hired items.
    • Please store your bike lock in your backpack/bag. Do not store your bike lock near any moving part of the bicycle.
    • The hirer must ensure that all hire items are locked or placed in a secure place when not in use.
    • The hirer agrees that they will be charged for any item that is stolen, lost or damaged, whether or not the theft, loss or damage has been caused by the hirer.
    • The hirer shall return the equipment to SeaLink Rottnest Island within the time agreed in the booking.
    • The hirer indemnifies SeaLink Rottnest Island from, against, and in respect of all costs, damage, loss, claims, expense, liability, legal action and demands sustained, suffered, or incurred by or made against SeaLink Rottnest Island on account of, arising from or in respect of:
    a) Any loss of or damage to property or personal injury (including death) or illness caused by, in the course of or arising from the hire, the hired items or riding activity howsoever caused: or
    b) The hirer being in breach, or deemed to be in breach, of these hire terms.
    • The hirer acknowledges that the hirer uses the hire items at the hirers’ own risk and that neither SeaLink Rottnest Island, nor any employee or agent of the operator shall be responsible or liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death howsoever caused (whether caused by negligent or unlawful act or omission of, by or on the part of SeaLink Rottnest Island or employee of the operator) arising from the use of the hire items or any incident involving the hire items.
    • Cancellation: Payment for hire items is non-refundable.
    • SeaLink Rottnest Island reserves the right to decline hire of bikes or snorkel sets to any person who, in the opinion of SeaLink Rottnest Island and its staff, fails to meet any requirements relating to safety, including age restrictions.

    WARNING: The activity of cycling and snorkelling has some elements of danger. Injury is possible. Please ride/snorkel with care and responsibility.

    SeaLink Rottnest Island offers a free recovery and/or replacement service with through the on- island bike hire, Pedal & Flipper, in the unlikely event your bike breaks down. Breakdowns include flat tires, chain problems, gear problems, etc.

    If you do not have a phone, stop the first vehicle you see, and they will contact Pedal & Flipper by radio. Average time for recovery/replacement is 40 minutes in busy times as there is a 40kms per hour speed limit in place for all island vehicles.

    Please note: this service is not free if you have maliciously damaged the bike i.e.: skidded tires etc.
