SeaLink Northern Territory General Manager Etienne Raubenheimer said the initiative reflects SeaLink's commitment to supporting local communities and creating opportunities for young people to connect with the places where they live.
"At SeaLink, we're proud to connect communities and help people experience the unique places that make the Northern Territory so special," Mr Raubenheimer said.
"Fishing is a pastime that brings generations together and teaches valuable life skills such as patience, responsibility and respect for the environment.
"We're delighted to partner with AFANT on this initiative to help more young Territorians and their families access these experiences while strengthening connections to community, place and the outdoors."
As the peak representative body for recreational fishing in the Northern Territory, AFANT works to promote participation, education and responsible fishing practices while ensuring future generations can continue to enjoy the Territory's world-class recreational fishing opportunities.
AFANT Chief Executive Officer David Ciaravolo said the partnership would help more young people experience the unique outdoor lifestyle that is such an important part of the Northern Territory.
"We're incredibly grateful to SeaLink Northern Territory for supporting the Mandorah School Holiday Fishing Initiative and helping more students and families access these experiences during the school holidays," Mr Ciaravolo said.
"The Northern Territory offers some of the best recreational fishing experiences in the world, and initiatives like this help ensure more young people and families can enjoy them firsthand while learning the importance of safe, responsible and sustainable practices."
