SeaLink Northern Territory is pleased to announce the full resumption of ferry services from Cullen Bay to Mandorah following the successful completion of urgent dredging works by the Northern Territory Government. The project, brought forward due to accelerated sediment build-up, now guarantees full-depth, all-tide access to the Cullen Bay ferry facility.
This vital upgrade supports SeaLink’s operations to Mandorah, Tiwi Islands, and other surrounding communities, ensuring reliable service without the previous low-tide constraints.
“The completion of this project is a win for our customers and communities,” said Etienne Raubenheimer, General Manager, SeaLink Northern Territory. “With safe, reliable access now restored, our passengers travelling to school, work, health appointments, and community events can look forward to more consistent and dependable services.”
SeaLink worked closely with the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure, SMC Marine, Maritime Constructions, and Cullen Bay Marina to maintain safe vessel operations throughout the dredging. Some non-peak sailings were temporarily adjusted, and based on community feedback, SeaLink collaborated with dredging contractors to reinstate key afternoon, early evening, and weekend services to meet community demand.
