SeaLink launches Bruny Island Community Grants Program

SeaLink Tasmania has launched a new Bruny Island Community Grants Program, providing dedicated funding to support local organisations, sporting clubs and initiatives that help strengthen and enrich life on Bruny Island.

The program will provide up to $10,000 in funding annually, with eligible island-based organisations invited to apply for support for projects and activities that deliver lasting benefits for local residents.

SeaLink Tasmania General Manager Simon Tamlyn said the program reflects SeaLink's commitment to supporting the communities it serves.

"Bruny Island is more than a destination for us. It's a community where our people live, work and spend time, and we're proud to invest in its future," Mr Tamlyn said.

"From its spectacular coastal landscapes and abundant wildlife to its renowned food, wine and artisan producers, Bruny Island offers an experience unlike anywhere else in Australia and is a place that inspires pride among those who call it home.

" At the heart of it are the community groups, sporting clubs and volunteers who create opportunities for people to connect, participate and contribute, helping make Bruny Island such a vibrant and resilient place to live.

"Through the SeaLink Bruny Island Community Grants Program, we want to support initiatives that bring people together, create opportunities for local residents and help strengthen the social, cultural and sporting fabric of the island.

"We're looking forward to seeing the ideas and projects that come forward and the positive impact they will have across the Bruny Island community."

Funding is available to eligible Bruny Island-based organisations, with applications encouraged from projects that support youth and sporting activities, cultural initiatives, community participation and other programs that enrich island life.

The program forms part of SeaLink's ongoing commitment to supporting the regions in which it operates and investing in initiatives that contribute to stronger, more connected and resilient communities.

Applications are now open and will close on 31 August 2026. Following an assessment process, successful recipients will be selected by a panel and announced by the end of the first quarter of FY27.
