  The SeaLink ferry service departs Darwin at 10:15am, with a relaxed 2.5-hour cruise across the Beagle Gulf to Bathurst Island.

  On arrival at Wurrumiyanga at 12:45pm (approx), and head straight to Tiwi Oval to settle in among ready for the main event, the Tiwi Islands Football Grand Final. Enjoy your boxed lunch as the atmosphere builds and the community comes together for the biggest day on the Tiwi calendar.

  As the final siren sounds and the community celebrations wind down, head back to the ferry for the 4:30pm departure, returning to Darwin by approximately 7:30pm.

  • Please avoid wearing any skimpy clothing or cut off shorts as this is not culturally appropriate on the Tiwi Islands

  • No BYO alcohol: It is illegal to take alcohol to the Tiwi Islands. Security checks are performed on luggage, and anyone found with alcohol will be denied travel and will be banned from travelling in the future.
  • Snacks, cold drinks, tea and coffee are available for purchase on board the ferry

  • Please obtain permission before taking photos of people and do not take photos of children
