Community Support

Applications for Sponsorship are Now Open! 🌊

SeaLink is proud to support the prosperity and sustainability of our island communities through Community Waves – our sponsorship program for local organisations, events and initiatives.

Community Waves provides in-kind and financial support to groups that make a real impact in our region. If your work fosters community connection, supports health and wellbeing, or protects the environment, we want to hear from you.

How it Works

To ensure our support is fair, transparent and meaningful, sponsorship applications are accepted during two set windows each year.

Application Windows

✅ Now Open: 1 July – 31 July 2025
📅 Next Round: 12 January – 8 February 2026

Late applications can only be considered in exceptional circumstances, so please be sure to apply within these dates.

Supporting our Island Communities

SeaLink South East Queensland has been operating on North Stradbroke Island for over 60 years, and our commitment to the community runs just as deep as our history here. Each year, we provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in in-kind travel to support local clubs, grassroots events, and community organisations that make the island a better place to live, work, and visit.

We’re proud to back organisations like Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club, Straddie Sharks Allsports Rugby League Club, and Point Lookout Bowls Club, as well as local events such as the Straddie Invitational, Straddie Arts Trail, and Straddie Salute. Our support also extends to vital community groups, including the North Stradbroke Island Aboriginal and Islanders Housing Co-op, Yulu-Burri-Ba, and Stradbroke Early Learning - just to name a few.

We prioritise initiatives that focus on health, education, the environment, and community connection, with a strong emphasis on supporting organisations based on North Stradbroke Island and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.

Sponsorship Applications

  • To be eligible for sponsorship, applicants must:

    • Be based in the Redlands Coast, with a strong preference for NSI or SMBI organisations.
    • Align with one or more of the Community Investment Focus Areas: Community Impact, Health & Wellbeing, Environment or Education.
    • Provide clear benefits to the local community.
    • Offer tangible recognition for SeaLink SEQ (e.g., social media exposure, event presence, PR).
    • Submit applications within the designated timeframes.
  • Unfortunately we are unable to provide sponsorship for:

    • Religious organisations for religious activities.
    • Ongoing operational costs (e.g., staff wages, admin expenses).
    • Events promoting irresponsible alcohol consumption or gambling.
    • Activities that harm the environment.
    • Requests from individuals.
    • Initiatives that conflict with SeaLink SEQ policies or create financial dependency.
  • Community Waves applications are open twice a year – in July and January (dates may vary slightly each year).

Here’s how to apply and how it works:

    1. Check your eligibility
Make sure your request aligns with the criteria and focus areas outlined in our Community Waves brochure.

    2. Submit your application
Complete the online form below, outlining your initiative, the support you're seeking, and how you will recognise SeaLink SEQ.

    3. Assessment process
All applications are carefully reviewed to ensure they align with our community focus areas and business goals.

    4. Outcome notification
We’ll contact all applicants within four weeks of the application window closing to advise whether your application has been successful.

    5. Sponsorship agreement
If successful, you’ll receive a sponsorship agreement outlining the support we’ll provide and how you can recognise SeaLink SEQ in return.

    Exceptions:
If your request falls outside the application window but offers a significant community benefit, please contact us at [email protected].
