About North Stradbroke Island
A ferry ride across Moreton Bay takes you to North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), where beach days, wildlife encounters and a slower pace come naturally. Known affectionately as Straddie, the island is part of Quandamooka Country, with a rich living culture and a landscape of surf beaches, sheltered bays, freshwater lakes and native bushland.
The best way to explore Straddie at your own pace is to bring your car aboard a SeaLink vehicle ferry, giving you the freedom to discover the island’s beaches, townships and favourite local spots. If you're travelling without a car, take our passenger ferry to Dunwich, where connecting bus services make it easy to reach Amity Point and Point Lookout.
Explore the North Gorge Walk at Point Lookout, keeping an eye out for dolphins, turtles and migrating humpback whales during whale season. Spend the day surfing, diving or joining a guided island tour, or take it easy with a swim, a picnic and lunch overlooking the water. Discover the island’s three townships—Dunwich, Amity Point and Point Lookout—each with its own character and places to explore.
Whether you’re visiting for the day, escaping for a weekend or settling in for a longer stay, there’s plenty to make the trip your own. Choose from a range of holiday accommodation, from beachside camping to holiday homes, apartments and resorts.
