Once every two years, the artists of Kangaroo Island come together in the biggest single celebration of the island’s creativity at the longstanding Easter Art Exhibition in Penneshaw Town Hall.
In its 33rd year it is supported with judges from the Art Gallery of SA and Guildhouse. On the Edge is the major themed open-category and over $10,000 in prizes will be offered for current works 2D, 3D and photography. Spanning all generations of artists including the island’s young people, the exhibition offers diverse encounters with contemporary art practices. 300+ individual exhibits will be on show traversing mediums such as painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, photography and jewellery.
Celebrate with our artists at the official opening and presentation night, 6:30 pm Friday 2 April 2021. Meet the judges 10:30 Saturday 3 April 2021.

If you're searching for an adventure then the Kangaroo Island Marathon is for you! Set on Kangaroo Island, the KI Marathon is a destination marathon that showcases one of Australia’s best kept secrets. This is a premium running experience available to a maximum of 500 runners each year and attracts runners from around the globe.
The course route is located in the remote south-west corner of Flinders Chase National Park, starting and finishing at the Visitor's Centre. Be inspired by deviating and undulating roads that cut through dense forest, an exposed coastal section with views of the powerful Southern Ocean, a loop that travels by historic landmarks such as Cape de Couedic Lighthouse and Admirals Arch, and a zig-zag boardwalk leading to the iconic Remarkable Rocks. 2020 was a gap year for the event with everything that happened, but the event will be back in full strength for 2021!
For more information visit the Kangaroo Island Marathon website.
When: Friday 10th September 2021
Where: The course starts and finishes in Penneshaw
The WILDROO offers runners the option of a 30K or 60K race distance. The course route starts and finishes in the quaint township of Penneshaw. A sunrise hill climb transports runners to the top of Dudley Peninsula providing panoramic ocean views to mainland South Australia. Runners will head south crossing over Chapman River and looping around Cape Willoughby lighthouse, before a detour across coastal farm trails that pass by Antechamber Bay. The final stretch descends a historic tree lined canopy called Binney's track, returning runners to the local footy oval where they'll be greeted by family and friends.
