Depart Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge in American River mid-evening (time varies according to season), and enjoy a leisurely drive to Penneshaw. On the way, visit the American River wharf where the origins of the name American River will be revealed, and our guide will also point out various historical interests. The tour takes in some wildlife spotting including Tammar Wallabies, kangaroos and possums (specific wildlife spotting not guaranteed but we will try our best).  On arrival at the Penneshaw Penguin Centre, their experienced guide will take you on foot through penguin territory.
