Depart Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge in American River mid-evening (time varies according to season), and enjoy a leisurely drive to Penneshaw. On the way, visit the American River wharf where the origins of the name American River will be revealed, and our guide will also point out various historical interests. The tour takes in some wildlife spotting including Tammar Wallabies, kangaroos and possums (specific wildlife spotting not guaranteed but we will try our best). On arrival at the Penneshaw Penguin Centre, their experienced guide will take you on foot through penguin territory. If the weather is suitable, we will indulge in some star gazing on the way back to the Lodge. The order of the tour is subject to change.
- Discover and learn about Kangaroo Island’s Nocturnal Wildlife including Tammar Wallabies, kangaroos and possums.
- Transfers to/from Penneshaw from American River
- Entry into the Penneshaw Penguin Centre where an experienced guide will take you on foot through penguin territory.

Nocturnal Tour (approx 2 hours)
Departs daily from Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge reception (not available in February).
Minimum of 2 passengers, maximum of 10 passengers.
^Prices valid from 1st of April 2019 to 31st of March 2020, for other dates please enquire. Does not operate for the months of March, April & May, Christmas Day or the month of February. All prices are person. Child price for children between 3-12 years (must provide own booster seats for children under 7 year & subject to availability). Infants are not recommended as there is no capsule car seat for infants.
