North Stradbroke Island is the perfect destination for an island wedding. Located just one hour from Brisbane with a sub-tropical climate means that perfect weather conditions prevail almost all year round. If you are planning a Straddie wedding, our Groups and Events team can make it easy for you with their local knowledge of the island. Whether you prefer the backdrop of rugged headlands, perfect white sandy beaches, or stunning seascape views, the island has a variety of locations that would be a wonderful setting for your wedding photos.

A Straddie beach wedding will provide a unique and individual experience for both the wedding party and guests. A range of wedding venues for both your ceremony and reception can be found on the island. So whether you’re planning an intimate wedding with a small group of guests or a lavish wedding with lots of friends and family, there is something to suit every taste and budget.

Point Lookout Surf Club

Located on the headland overlooking Main Beach, Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club offers spectacular views, a spacious hall and a upstairs bar area. This venue is the perfect blank canvas to plan your dream wedding.

Please note, during the Surf Life Saving season, from September to May each year, the Surf Club is only available for Monday - Friday weddings.

Travelling to the Island

  • For a destination wedding without the need for passports, Straddie is the perfect place to say 'I do'. Apply for a group discount so your nearest and dearest can join you in paradise for your big day!

    Consideration will be made for wedding groups travelling with 15+ cars to North Stradbroke Island. The discount for non-peak times will be up to 20% off the return fare. For peak times such as school holidays or long weekends, the discount will be up to 10% off the return fare.

    Conditions apply, each request can take up to 14 business days to be reviewed and notified.

    WEDDING DISCOUNT ENQUIRY

  • North Stradbroke Island is easily accessible by SeaLink passenger or vehicle ferry, with regular services operating from Cleveland. SeaLink North Stradbroke Island is located at 12 Emmett Drive, Cleveland (Toondah Harbour).

    Passenger ferry

    The SeaLink passenger ferry journey is approximately 25 minutes. For passengers being dropped off to the passenger ferry we are located at 3-12 Emmett Drive. Please note, that 2 passenger ferries operate to North Stradbroke Island, departing from Toondah Harbour, the SeaLink passenger ferry terminal is the second ferry terminal.

  • North Stradbroke Island is easily accessible by SeaLink passenger or vehicle ferry, with regular services operating from Cleveland. SeaLink North Stradbroke Island is located at 12 Emmett Drive, Cleveland (Toondah Harbour).

    Vehicle ferry

    The SeaLink vehicle journey is approximately 45 minutes. For vehicle ferry bookings please follow the blue line and signs through the car park to the check-in window, our friendly staff will check you in and explain where to park for loading. Bookings are required. Our vehicle ferries are equipped with onboard licensed cafes and seating available on the upper decks. Walk-on passengers are welcome aboard our vehicle ferries, however not all services connect with the island bus.

  • Toondah Harbour Carpark

    There are public car parking spaces in the vicinity of Toondah Harbour. Some areas have parking time restrictions or are for boat trailers therefore it is vital to check the signage carefully to avoid a parking fine.

    During busy times such as school holidays or long weekends parking can be hard to find so if possible get a lift to the terminal, use public transport or arrive early to allow time to find a car park.
