SeaLink Kangaroo Island Ferry Terminals

The SeaLink Ferry Terminals are located at Cape Jervis and Penneshaw. You can choose to drive down if you're taking your car over to Kangaroo Island or use our state-of-the-art fleet of coaches for your journey.

  • Terminal Opening Hours: Daily, 8:00am – 6:00pm (excluding Christmas Day)

  • Coach connection services are available from Adelaide to Cape Jervis and from Kingscote and American River to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island to meet morning and evening ferry services. For more information about coach connections see the SeaLink coach and shuttle timetable.

  • Safe, secure day and longer-term car parking is available at Cape Jervis right near the SeaLink Terminal. The car park opens prior to the first ferry departure and is locked after the last departure arrives from Penneshaw. The cost is $18 per day for travel between 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023. Bookings can be made when arranging your ferry travel or at the Cape Jervis Ferry Terminal. Please note that ticketed car parking is now in place at the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal, operated by the Kangaroo Island Council.

  • Please check-in 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ferry departure.

    On arrival at the Ferry Terminal Terminal please proceed to the check-in counter with your booking reference number or provide your surname. You will be presented with a boarding pass for each passenger travelling and one for the vehicle and driver (if you are taking a vehicle).

    If you've booked a pensioner or student fare or are travelling on a special fare that requires a voucher to be presented, you will be required to show applicable identification or present your voucher at this point.

    If you are travelling with a vehicle, please park in the vehicle loading lanes as directed. Only the drivers are to be in the vehicle during loading, passengers board via the ramp in front of the terminal building.

  • A boarding announcement will be made and guests may board the ferry via the passenger ramp or air-bridge. Vehicle drivers are required to drive their vehicle on board under the guidance of our ferry crew. The crew are there to assist if you require assistance with driving your car or caravan/trailer onto the ferry. Once your car is safely parked and handbrake on, our ferry crew will guide you to the closest exit door to the passenger deck areas. On arrival into port an announcement will be made regarding giving disembarkation details.

    If you are travelling with a vehicle, lock all your luggage inside the car taking only essential items to the passenger deck. For security reasons, you are not able to stay in your vehicle over the duration of your voyage and there is no access onto the vehicle deck during the voyage.

    SeaLink can provide an electric wheelchair at both ferry terminals to assist passengers with a maximum weight of 120kgs. Passengers in excess of this weight will need to provide their own wheelchair and assistance.

  • If you are travelling with carry-on luggage only, you may deposit this into the SeaLink luggage van prior to boarding. The luggage van parks directly outside the terminal. You can collect your luggage on arrival. No dangerous goods or freight will be carried in the luggage van.
