Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail
One of Australia’s Great Walks
Kangaroo Island holds many secrets waiting to be discovered, with none more rewarding than the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail. The world-class, 61 kilometre, 5-day walking experience gives walkers access to some of the most rugged, remote and spectacular coastline in Australia.
The trail is located in the South West of Kangaroo Island and encompasses new and upgraded trails through Flinders Chase National Park, Kelly Hill Conservation Park and the Cape Bouguer Wilderness Protection Area. Along with encounters with some of the island's most unique wildlife, the trail provides access to the iconic attractions of Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, Weirs Cove, Hanson Bay and Kelly Hill Caves.
Please note that the trail is currently available as part of a Fire Recovery Experience. The KI Wilderness Trail was damaged during the bushfires that devasted the area in Summer 2019-20 and has reopened for walkers hosted by licensed tour operators. SeaLink are currently not operating guided tours, however, further details are available on other certified tour operators are available on the National Parks and Wildlife website.
